Argus formed in Tasmania at the end of 2005. Lead singer / songwriter / guitarist Mat Bond, originaly from Papua New Guinea (Tasmanian expat) was exposed to local Papua New Guinean tribal music from a very young age, made his first electric bass guitar at age 7 and was given a dulcimer at age 8, Mat was also lucky enough to receive classical guitar lessons before his family moved to Tasmania, when Mat was 15. At 16 Mat began classical vocal trainging, then after years being apart of the local Tasmanian music scene, in 2004 Mat was asked to play in Miami at the "Hot Wet Miami Beach show" on the strength of one of his film soundtrack demo's, but living on the other side of the world ended this idea without funding. Instead, he was made Artist of the month, August 2004 on the show's promotional web site. Mat then enlisted Peter Milic on Bass guitar to form the beginings of Argus. Originally from Adelaide, Peter Milic has been playing different instruments in various outfits around Australia and Europe for the past 20 years. In "Argus" he has found his niche on the bass. Michael Gooche was the original drummer and plays on the recordings of "Dooray", "Mighty Man" and "Pincess Mary" - Trent Spice is the new drumer and had been playing away in a place called Huonville untill we enlisted him. Campbell Murphy has joined Argus on Keyboards, Campbell played in many outfits over the years untill he had a jam with Argus one night at a club, he's never left (one of us !, one of us !). Argus are now signed to a recording agreement with Warrior/Universal (Hollywood, Blvd., L.A). Argus should have their first official Album out in 2008.
