Hobart rockers Anarkasiem have been together for about a year and a half, and in that time have played many gigs to varied amounts of people. The band is a hefty three piece arrangement; Claire on vocals and guitar, Dave behind the drums and Wils on the bass, and both boys jumping in to sing as well!

Generally classified as emotive rock/punk.

Review compliments of Martin Blackwell: "Anarkasiem - Claire Seabrook is a babe on guitar with a very distinctive songwriting style – its post grunge at least, with pop sensibilities backed by very driving bass lines and a tubthumper behind the kit with cool piercings (how do you get away with that at school guys?) – and already they too have done a whole bunch of gigs at an early age as well. They played one of the longest sets of the Rage at the Ranch - the sound crew remarked how stoked they felt as their mature hearts skipped beats to the songs of love, beytrayal, redemption and acquital that Anarkasiem endorse in their all too cool composition. The tent staff loved this, and everybody jumped up and down and did the smurf, the headbang and the pogo dance. Its just so so great to finally see the new Tasmanian rock – after a long epoch in Hobart’s musical legacy of ego and bravado – these guys are modest but very confident and with their heads looking over the horizons of the North West countryside sad to learn that they may be heading to Brisbane – soon. 8 years ago they would have supported a band like Bikini Kill down here (they remind me of the then support ‘Blag Salute’) – It’s a good scene in Brissie we hear, and they will get a different form of exposure and audience, but im sure it will benefit then to the optimal degree – and there is always a show in Hobart for them.."
