My site is named Busker for FREEDOM...I have been singing and playing songs I've written for 25 years on the streets of the USA...Since it was my image in the Woodstock 69 audience the film focuses on during Richie Havens' FREEDOM Medley, I call myself Busker for FREEDOM, and my songs celebrate FREEDOM - sure was fun when Michelle Shocked asked me up on stage to play and sing in her "Strawberry Jam" song, during her show In Bloomington in 1996

John has indeed been supportive in more ways than I can number. His comments are unsolicited by me, and thus make me feel all the more happy. I'm quite happy to share the happiness & success he tosses my way, with those who need a break, with those who stand out on the street singing their hearts out - even & especially when NOBODY is walking by - belting out those Songs Of FREEDOM... Like the true friend I wish upon us all today, John has never been shy about "calling me to task" when that is what I needed to hear. He has no truck with the "crowd I used to be in with..." as the above mentioned Dyl~stir sang so aptly, in Positively Fourth Street. John has been willing to foster what meagre talents I may possess... knowing that sometimes the world doesn't need another "SOUNDS LIKE" singer, and that it can take years for some of us to "find" our voice - be that in the sound of the WIND WAVING WHEAT in east Washington State, USA, the silent screams of the voiceless in big cities planet wide, or the nightingale's refrain in Hoagy Carmichael's STARDUST. May PEACE be with us, from the inside out...

I've known Jesse now for about 40 years. He has been my friend longer than any other living person. I've watched him come up from a Jesus Freakin' Dylan clone to the finely polished musician he is today. I've enjoyed nurturing his creative talent, and have contributed many a dollar to the Busker's Box. I have also contributed many other things to his continuance, including food, shelter, graphic editing and cyber access. One day he asked me to bring up Richie Haven's website. Then he said he wished there was a way to comminicate with Richie directly. So I showed him how to place an entry into his guestbook... The rest is, as they say, history. Jesse and Richie are now good buddies, exchange emails, and get together for a chat from time to time. I am extreemly pleased to see Jesse beginning to receive the attention and fame he so richly deserves. I have not met a musician who is so dedicated to his music. I've seen Jesse struggle for the basics of survival, but never have I seen him forsake his musical mission of delivering the message of Peace. I love it when he is able to come and stay with me for a few days; and I miss him greatly when he's out doing what he is on this good earth to do. I wish him all the happiness, sucess and happiness he can stand. Live long and prosper, Jesse.
