British India are ”hotter-than-vindaloo” Kathy McCabe, Daily Telegraph

British India look set to rise in 2007 if industry interest is anything to go by. The response to their recently completed debut album has been outstanding with one industry insider dubbing the finished work a “Teenage Masterpiece”.

The four school friends from Melbourne kicked off last year with their 7 inch vinyl single ‘Outside 109’ followed by the EP ‘The Time’ both supported by Triple J.

The boys spent 2006 producing their debut album with Harry Vanda & Glenn Goldsmith at Flashpoint Studios in both Melbourne and Sydney. Vanda launched Flashpoint Music last year scoring a national #2 hit with The Wrights ‘Evie pt 1, 2 & 3’.

No stranger to British India’s garage-pop leanings, Harry Vanda pioneered power pop in Australia with The Easybeats. He and partner George Young wrote the classic ‘Friday On My Mind’ and produced amongst many others, eight AC/DC albums.

‘Black & White Radio’ is the first track to be lifted from the album.

British India will tour nationally in 2007 to coincide with a March release for the self-titled album.
