Deborah plays alternative folk with a touch of the avant garde from time to time . Songs range from the odd commercial number that hopefully would come out scoring 10/10 in this new " spot the next big thing " software - to songs that would confuse the hell out of it .Deborah hits her classical guitar , puts plastic bags in it , re tunes it , plays heaps of harmonics and strums it furiously . What glues it all together is latin percussionist Mariano Mazzeo who constantly experiments with sonorites and complex rhythms . He is truly in love with music . Sam Benge who plays guitar with Deborah , goes for quality of sound and sweet hooks and riffs .

Deborah is a full time classical singer but don't let that put you off . When she does her own music even the drunks at the bar shut up . She sings high , low , all around the place , she grunts and screams and even yodals . You name it . Her main goal is to express human emotion within a strict song structure and after a strong vocal line has been established .

Deborah Wai Kapohe sang the Australian and New Zealand , National Anthems at last years Bledisloe Cup in Christchurch , and most recently at the New Zealand vs France Rugby Test Match (Jade Stadium) . Estimated TV Audience 2 Billion
