dogsounds creates the sounds that no-one seems to do much these days - harking back to the days when synth music was fresh, exciting and unexplored. Calling on a history of Jarre, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream, dogsounds creates modern-day retro-electronica in the best tradition!

dogsounds is a collaboration between Foxx Wolf and Martin Robinson. Foxx has been synth afficionado since around 1987, when he first heard Redezvous by Jean-Michel Jarre, and Switched on Bach by Wendy Carlos. He is the kind of synth player who longs for the good ol' days. He wishes he had been born ten years earlier, when electronic music was still fresh and exciting. He wasn't, though, so that's tough cookies for him. He tries to capture the best of late 70's/early 80's electronic music, with maybe a hint of today. Not dance, not easy listening, just...well...easy.

Martin was 'badgered' into the electronic music world by Foxx, until he eventually realised that he quite liked the stuff, that it was cool, and discovered that he may actually have some latent talent. And that he could take even more electronic boxes and computers to bits!

Martin on Foxx: Foxx has been tinkering for years with an almost childlike passion, and has been a great inspiration, but I wish he would just get on with it sometimes!

Foxx on Martin: as a non-musician, Martin has a unique viewpoint of treating performing music like an experiment or puzzle; a naive but refreshing ability!

dogsounds also has its own home on the web, at www.dogsounds.com, where we also have our online store and the interactive graphic novel, www.dogsounds.com/saxmunro. What are you waiting for?
