Future Native

FUTURE NATIVE are a band with a mission. With their album “Rusty Rocks” released on July 1 and already turning heads, the band are gearing up to take their message of peace and environmental conscience to the world.

Their debut single “The Protest Song” gathered attention around the country in 2000 with the second track “Your Backyard” further cementing their credentials on radio around Australia.

“This album is the culmination of seven years work and we’re really proud of the results. Its been a labour of love and we’re happy that we can get our environmental and political messages across by doing what we love: music” said the band’s singer PJ.

Described as a rock band with a conscience, Future Native tackle the big issues such as pollution, whaling, reconciliation and uranium mining while retaining catchy pop/rock hooks which have propelled them on to radio around the country.

Living in the quiet Gold Coast hinterland, PJ Creamer and Melanie May draw inspiration from their bush surrounds and vegetarian lifestyle.

“Our inspiration is drawn from our environment and lifestyle. I think the days of sex and drugs as the main part of the music industry are gone. We’re about positivity and thinking about the bigger picture.”
