Label:

Wannabe Composer/Guitarist/Pianist/Vocalist/Engineer

I've broken up all of my tracks into albums:

ATB:Apparently Human (Alt-Rock/Metal/Indie)
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=119794
ATB:Apparently Human is the most recent stuff I've worked on. It was originally for the band I was in All the Blind but things didn't hold together. This is most of what I'd call my good stuff. There's still a few tracks not up yet because the vocals haven't been recorded yet. Structurally, the songs were written from a guitarist's perspective. I did my best to finish each track on one instrument before moving onto others.

I think there's a few songs on this album that are a bit radio friendly - particularly Victim of a One Night Stand and Comin' Down. There's also the Crooked County Remix of Don't Wake the Dead by rappers Spittin' Image featured on their mp3.com.au page www.mp3.com.au/spittinimage

I really tried to not have any filler on this album. Favorite tracks would be Don't Wake the Dead, Release Me and All This Sound

GodMusique (Trance/Techno)
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=120046
A project I worked on with AJ Mofo around 2004. For me it was an exercise in making my own synth patches. I find it difficult to gauge the level of repitition required for techno/electronica so I think the songs are lacking a little structurally speaking.

My favorites are track 2, 3, 5, 15, 16 & 18 (which was possibly the track that made me write them all). Tracks 5, 7 & 13 are spooky chilled out comedown pieces...

Surgery7:Darkness (Industrial/Metal)
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=116166
This was my first attempt at a full production CD. I did it all at home using (by today's standards) crap equipment. Heavily influenced by NIN & Mrilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar. This album received almost 15,000 plays on mp3.com in the 6 months it was up around 2001 and as a live act fell over over just one show in Brisbane.

Initally I was planning to redo all of my old material but I'm just not as angry as I used to be.

My favorite tracks are Tell Little Johnny and Darkness.

Electronic Noodles (Various Electronica)
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=120044
Some film score and sound scapes using synth & samples. Nothing to get too excited over.

Acoustic Noodles (Various Acoustic)
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=120181
Acoustic songs or acoustic versions of other tracks.

Sketches, Demos & Jams
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=114648
Mostly just demos or old versions of various stuff. Possible cringe factor involved.

Dead Turtles
www.mp3.com.au/Forms/MediaView.aspx?MediaId=120179
Dead Turtles are tracks I really should leave in the bin - they're old recordings I find laying about the place. Be warned - the Dead Turtles sound as bad as they smell! Heavy cringe factor!!

The music I write is determined almost entirely by what I'm feeling at the time and I'll never tie myself down to a specific genre.

I used to teach guitar and I like mixing stuff... So if you ever have any questions on technique or mixing, I'll be happy to give you my 2 cents worth.

One more thing... think of this site as me sitting outside some cyber-station busking... so If you a/enjoy the music, b/have a paypal account, and c/you're feeling saucy, I have added a Donations feature on my myspace page... got a spare dollar or two? Otherwise it's free! Enjoy!

Having a Break

I'm studying computer programming at the moment and just playing piano... the ebb and flow of creativity moves away from me...

Apologies to those who have tried to contact me regarding the mixing - the account linked to my mp3.com.au has been dead since I moved a few months ago and most of my stuff is still in boxes for those of you that I have to post things out to. I appreciate your patience and sincerely apologise for the stuff around...

Thanks for the comments mate. Enjoyed your stuff especially "All This Sound". Sounds like the lovechild of an unholy liaison between Bowie and Hetfield.
