Formed in the spring of 2004 Magentaline are a four-piece rock outfit from Melbourne who set out to write great music, playing to audiences far and wide.

The melodies and music used are from a variety of influences that fuse together through the four individual members to create a sound that's pretty hard to place.

2005 saw the band debut on the live scene at one of Melbourne’s leading live venues, Revolver Upstairs.
Since then Magentaline continued to build their fan base playing constantly all over Melbourne at leading alternative venues, NEXT and Switch as well as The Arthouse, The Green Room and Pony Bar, just to name a few. November also saw the bands first trip to Sydney as well as a live to air on 106.7 PBS FM.

The band’s ability to cross over to other audiences has been evident in having the privilege of playing with some great local talent including; Away From Now, Tirany, City On Fire and In Name & Blood as well as interstate acts, Change of Face (WA), Smithtown Riot (NSW) and The Reason (NSW).

Receiving reviews and featured music spots on popular online music sites, Bombshellzine.com and Punknetwork.net as well as reviews and interviews in local street press magazines Beat and Inpress has also helped build the momentum heading into 2006, where Magentaline are not planning on slowing down with the release of their new EP – The Regime.

The EP - recorded at Hothouse studios in November ’05 - was launched in February at the Arthouse to a near packed room of 200 people with the band since going on to appear on local radio such as 90.7SYN FM and 106.7PBS. February also saw the band's music appear on Channel 10 extreme sports program Cactus Garden.

Driving toward the future, Magentaline plan on playing more shows including a return to Sydney as well as breaking new ground in both Adelaide and Perth before the middle of the year.
