Press For Service

Formed in early August 2004 at Leederville TAFE and containing of Jay Munce (Guitar/ Vocals), David Thoomes (Bass) and Daniel Aitken (Drums) .They immediately began writing songs and had there first performance in the second week of September in the “Bunker” at the Leederville TAFE campus. Press For Service has been described as a “New Age Progressive Grunge Punk” Band.

PFS played their first band comp only 10 weeks of being together which they won and that got them free studio time at "Studio A" at the Leederville TAFE campus.

After a four week break PFS returned to TAFE and discovered that drummer Daniel had not returned from New Zealand so they were forced to find a replacement. While PFS were looking for a replacement for Dan, Earl Clarke (ex – Plaugeround guitarist) joined up with Jay and Dave to help write new material.

After almost a month of not having a drummer, PFS came across Paul Wachla from www.myspace.com/theexorcists and he filled the position of drummer in the band. After 6 months of Earl being in the band he had to leave due to other commitments.

Press For Service went into the studio in November/December 2005 to record "PFS" which is soon to be out on the Cult Jam Records compilation "30 Years Of Decay" due out at the end of May 2006.

In 2006 PFS became a four piece again with the addition of Phil McDonald on guitar which added a whole new sound to the trio.
