Six Years Later are an established four piece rock/alternative outfit residing in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Six Years Later formed several years ago under the former name "G-Suit", where they gigged regularly and gained much experience. However, with a lineup change and the addition of a new bassist late in 2003, they decided to start fresh with new songs and a new name.

Since this time, Six Years Later have toured regularly in pubs around Melbourne, pulling large crowds in such venues as the Armadale, Revolver, the Tote and the Green Room. They also picked up an encouragement award from a Freeza battle of the bands during 2003 and have played at three Melfest's, which is a showcase of bands put together with fellow musicians from a Melbourne website called Melband, where they also received very positive feedback.

They have also received media coverage in magazines such as Beat and radio play on local radio stations, including SYN FM. 6YL has gained publicity on channel 31, appearing on such shows as Asylum TV and Pluck Wednesdays.

Musically they have been compared to Powderfinger, Motor Ace, Silverchair and Incubus with a range of songs expanding from a softer melodic feel to up paced pop/rock songs, through to heavier and powerful rock songs. Success was also found with there first single "where you are" which reached top 5 in the alternative section on mp3.com.au.

With a new demo completed and the release of their first EP on the horizon, the band looks forward to the future. They hope to deliver more successful shows in local pubs around Melbourne and begin heavier gigging around other states of Australia.
