Displaying many differing qualities all lending to emotive, intelligent and soulful music Solais possess a truly unique sound. Melding the free-form brutality and technical elements of progressive metal with the subtlety and imagery of the ambient soundscapes crafted meticulously to convey the feelings of loss and despair - every song written is a thousand levels deep into the heart of human emotion.

Vocalist/Guitarist/Composer Rhys Grimley formed Solais in mid 2004 with a group of friends. After a promising start, there began a string of setbacks and soon enough, Rhys found himself as the only member of Solais. A reformation with one particular member remained fruitless and plans were once again put on hold. After nearly 3 years, a recording has finally produced, showing the reasons why Rhys has stuck with the project for so long. Rehearsals have begun, with 5 full-time members (Josh, Paul, Marty, Shake and Rhys). Solais plans to be gigging in the very near future.
