David McGuinness (30) first got into music making through computers from his teens first on the Amstrad CPC464 using MusicMaker and then onto the Amiga using Protracker. He started to compose music. The actual kick start on writing music came in early 1996 after discovering the tracker based music scene and soon he changed to sequencing with midi and DAW equipment in december of 2000. During a 2 year period, he released music under the name Soundsource onto MP3.com. Several of his tracks reached the #1 slot in various MP3.com charts including trance & dance eventually peaking at just over 20,000 downloads.

As years went by, he gained skills on all areas of song writing and production. Last year (2005) saw him make the transition to live events when he played his first DJ set in Amsterdam. The event, 3030, organised jointly between David Hallowell and himself was a success.

David has dabbled in practically every genre under the sun. His main love is trance and dance music, however, you may find him releasing the occasional classical track or new age style track.

David uses a variety of equipment. His main sequencing machine is the highly recommended Apple Powerbook G4 running Logic Pro 7. This, combined with a number of synthesizers (software & hardware) gives David the opportunity to explore his creativity
