Formed in the spring of 1995 by vocalist/ guitarist Tommy Lugo, joined by drummer Bob Foreman in 1996,& by bass-player Peter Ohlert in 2004 Stellarscope have the rare ability to combine quality space-pop and lavish surreally (and, yes, even white noise) to achieve an ecclesiastic-orgiastic frenzy.

Influenced by such bands as My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Jesus and Mary Chain, the Verve, and many more, they have an innate ability to create textured sound-scapes that border on the psychedelic. Unlike most bands of the genre, Stellarscope relies heavily on straight ahead vocal conviction, giving the songs a sense of grounded-ness when the chaos of sounds ensues.

They have been playing the East Coast of the US on a regular basis for many years now, honing they're live, bliss-out sounds, and has released several full length albums, as well as many EPs. They have also contributed to several worldwide compilations and tribute albums. They are also known for their work in the scene. They have organized successful tours, shows, festivals & events through out the northeast region of the US for several years now. Creating a large network of bands, friends, & fans that work together to move the scene forward. They are also a fully self-contained band owing their own studio & video production company named Patetico Productions and an independent record label Patetico Recordings.

Stellarscope play space pop driven slowly forward by bass and drums as the guitars, vocals, and “space violin” build a massive wall of chaotic yet tranquillizing noise.- - Lee Kilcrease Delusions of Adequacy (USA)

The Popnoise Festival, masterminded by Tommy Lugo (Patetico Productions), this last summer was a huge success with 16 bands playing in an all day free all ages multimedia event... bands that performed... Shade, Charlene, A Place to Bury Strangers, Stellarscope, Autodrone, Alcian Blue, Plastron, The Defog, Scattered Planets, Project Skyward, and many more...

The tour that Tommy Lugo organized for the spring of 2003 was a sucess. Stellarscope toured with: MALORY (from Germany), RESPLANDOR (from Perú), HIGHSPIRE (from Philadelphia), & SKYWAVE (from Virginia) was fantastic. We had great bands like Project Skyward (NYC), Hollowphonic (Toronto), Hypnotech 3 (Hamilton) & all the other bands members that came out and supported the tour like Brasilia (NYC), Aerial Love Feed (NYC), Sonora (Canada),White Star Line (Canada. Stephen thanks for the hook ups! You are the man!), siblingnortwin (Canada), Alcian Blue (DC), Bedroom Set (NYC/VA), Scattered Planets (Philly), Nelson of Blisscent Records (USA), & all the others that I am forgetting. Thanks to everybody that came out (friends, family, fans, & critics) and showed their love in the US and Canada... We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts... you are the reason that we do this!

XOXOX,
