The Woodworms

The Woodworms are a studio band formed by bassist and vocalist Terry Stacey as an outlet for his creative desire to record and have heard his own compositions after standing up the back holding the rhythmn down in "somebody elses" band. The music of the Woodworms is cross-genre and this comes as a result of Terry’s varied musical tastes and experiences in the numerous bands he has played with over the years. In order to achieve this he has gathered together a number of musical friends of varying ages and musical backgrounds in the studio to create the timelessness of The Woodworms sound. Terry Stacey has over 35 years of experience playing and recording in bands in Australia. He has played with rock bands such as the 21st Century Love Band, Wildwood, Afrika and Sunbury ’74 rock festival headliners, The 69’ers, country bands such as Shotgun (which he founded) and with Tamworth gold guitar winner Mike Fox and with 50’s revival bands such as Tempest & 78RPM. Whilst The Woodworms songs show some country influence, other songs range from blues/rock to jug band to folk. All songs were produced by Terry and recorded in glorious 24 track analog at Powerhouse Studios, Sydney. The name of The Woodworms was inspired by the recurrent theme in Julian Barnes book, “The History of the World in 11 ½ Chapters” and so the songs reflect Terry’s musical history.

Missing You, featuring the dynamic vocals of Roe Bronkhorst, was the No.1 Country Track on MP3.com.au for five weeks in April/May 2001.
