Pop & Rock

Tib was born in Paris, France to a Hungarian father and Spanish mother. At a young age, Tib and family moved to Australia and settled in the city of Adelaide. It didn’t take long before he discovered his love for music and would be involved in many music projects throughout Primary & High school. Writing and performing his own music would soon take priority, and Tib performed his first Pub gig at age 16. In the years to follow Tib would be involved in many bands, some of which went on to be very successful, paying his dues for many years. Tib would go on to have a solid reputation as one of Adelaide and Sydney’s most sought after singers.

His first ‘real’ band was called ‘Tantrym’. It was the early 80’s and the ‘Heavy Metal’ scene was huge. At barely 16 years of age Tib began writing songs and training his voice to cope with the vocal demands of the genre. Although very ‘green’, Tib shone through with great showmanship and enthusiasm! It was a great learning experience. His next band ‘Virgin Eyez’ was a little more diverse, and exposed Tib to the more commercial ‘pop/rock’ side of music. They were once quoted in the Adelaide papers as being “Adelaide’s answer to Bon Jovi”. The band developed a huge following in South Australia.

All of Tib’s hard work and persistence began to pay off in his next band ‘The Glory Boys’. They were a very entertaining, fun rock covers band with a few original songs thrown in! They worked consistently throughout South Australia and quickly gained credibility with Agents, promoters and the public. The band supported and toured with many big name Australian and overseas acts at the time including ‘Transvision Vamp’, ‘Diesel’ and ‘Boom Crash Opera’, playing large venues such as Thebarton Theatre. This created a solid live following and provided an excellent stepping-stone for Tib’s next challenge!

In 1990, Tib grew frustrated with the limited Adelaide music scene and moved to Sydney to pursue his music career. He’d heard, through friend Andy Cichon (who went on to great success as bass player for Shania Twain and Madonna!), that there was a new band forming in Sydney consisting of well known Australian artists searching, Australia wide, for a frontman. The search ended after Tib auditioned and the band would eventually be named ‘Lost Angels. Funded by MCA Publishing and managed by Andrew McMannus (who was managing ‘The Divinyals’ at the time), Lost Angels went on to be a highly successful Sydney band filling large popular venues such as Selinas. They received radio and television airplay with a video shown on ‘Rage’. The future looked set for Tib and the band and ‘Lost Angels became as successful as an unsigned act could get. Unfortunately, the music scene went through a dramatic change in the mid 90’s with the emergence of ‘grunge’, and through some bad management decisions, the opportunity to release a CD slipped by. The band had been in pre-production for their first release with recordings at some of the best and well known studios in Australia such as Studio 301 and the famous ‘Rhino’s’ Studio which was partly owned by INXS. This was a great shame and both the band and the many fans that had come to support the band were extremely disappointed.

Tib would call Sydney home for the next eleven or so years. There, he met and worked with many top Australian artists. He would go on to established himself as one of the best rock vocalists/performers on the Sydney rock scene. Through these contacts, Tib also spent some time in Los Angeles, writing and recording with various musicians. This learning experience was invaluable, but eventually the winds of change would lead him back to Australia, and now back in Adelaide where he is settling into the next phase of his music career as a solo artist.

Tib is currently signed to independent Record/Publishing company ‘Foghorn’ and is busy writing and recording new material for future release.

Tib’s passion for writing, recording and performing live has never waived, and is as strong as ever. He quotes: “What you hear in my songs is a heart felt interpretation of my life experiences as well as what I see going on around me. It’s all about the emotional rollercoaster we call life!”
